Come experience the mysteries of edible, medicinal, and fantastic fungi with Charlie Aller, aka Charliceps.
The April 22nd & September 30th classes are focusing on medicinal mushrooms, including the preparation of your very own medicine to take home!
The May 5th & May 6th classes are a Mushroom Identification and Foraging class.
A local mushroom forager, grower, and identification expert, Charliceps has been studying and loving fungi for the last five years, and the passion is real. Prepare to share it! The Queendom Fungi is ever-present but often out of sight– and its wonders and gifts are myriad. You will learn about basic safe mushroom identification and regenerative foraging practices, native medicinal fungi, and esoteric or cryptic fungi that humans are discovering every day. We will also cover the ecology of various common species so that you can find your own mushroom spots and better understand the role that fungi play on our planet. Trust me, you’ll be hooked!
Getting to know our Local Medicinal Mushrooms
Charlie and Nina, co-founders of Mush Luv, are combining forces to bring you a powerful healing message from the Queendom Fungi. In this class we will cover a variety of local fungi, their healing properties, where to find them, and how to use them. During the first portion we will learn about medicinal fungi from ecological, experiential, medical, and traditional herbal perspectives. Then we’ll go looking for hyper-local medicinals! During the second portion, we will learn about and practice the art of preparations and extractions, and for a small materials fee you can begin your own dual extraction to finish at home. This course is appropriate for total beginners and experienced herbalists alike!
